C.T. Studd

“Only One Life” — A Legacy of Bold Faith
C.T. Studd spent the last years of his life in Africa, continuing to preach and organize missionary work despite declining health.
He was known for strong, passionate speeches and direct language. One of his most famous lines became widely quoted:
“Only one life, ’twill soon be past,
Only what’s done for Christ will last.”
Studd died on July 16, 1931, in Africa, far from the cricket fields where he once gained fame.
Today, WEC International continues to send missionaries worldwide.
C.T. Studd’s life tells a powerful story: a person can trade applause and comfort for purpose — and never regret it.
