India and Africa: A Life That Wouldn’t Slow Down

In 1900, C.T. Studd moved to India to serve as a pastor and missionary. But again, he felt called to go further.

In 1910, he traveled to Central Africa (in what was then the Belgian Congo). At the time, very few missionaries were working in the interior regions.

The journey was dangerous. Tropical diseases were common. Supplies were limited. Communication with England was slow.

Still, Studd pressed on.

In 1913, he founded the Worldwide Evangelization Crusade (now called WEC International), an organization focused on sending missionaries to unevangelized regions around the world.

He believed that no place was too remote and no people group too forgotten.
